CORE DATA SET
CORE DATA SET
The core data set has 23 measures. Equal priority is placed on quality patient care, quality work environment and best use of health resources. Staff from all levels of the organisation use the core data set. Different groups monitor the core data set to provide structure to their improvement activities. Reporting on improvement flows up and down.
The measures help you to understand how well care capacity demand management is working. Much like monitoring patient observations, what you don’t measure, you don’t know. The measures are designed to be simple and tell a story. The core data set is aimed at budget holders so they can action the results.
